It’s been a while. Here’s an update from the Valley.
Newfangled motion video!
For my sins, I’ve started putting actual time-spent, effort-put-in videos on YouTube.
This one’s about Mothership and got way more attention than I expected: Mothership RPG in 1 rule
Which led to me suddenly getting a load of subscribers and plunged me into many doubts about what the next video should be…
But yesterday I reached a sort of catharsis after releasing this video about what synthesizers and TTRPGs have in common: Playing to find out
Have a watch and subscribe if you want. Most of all I enjoy reading comments.
What am I doing?
I’ve been fairly quiet this year whilst I work on commissions for other people. Cycles of the Eye should be heading to the printers soon, so I’m getting stuck into some new projects:
Triangle Agency: Architect (working title, I think?) – a solo game set in the Triangle Agency universe. This has taken a really interesting and unexpected turn conceptually. I’m looking forward to it being revealed later this year.
A secret collaboration with an unlikely brand — can’t say much about this one currently but it’s a one-page game with a small non-game company I admire. It’s led me to revisit the unholy union of Troika and Ironsworn, which I first explored with Lay On Hands.
Brute Fort – slowly working on this when I have the time. I‘ve enlisted Gus BC again (who made the Thousand Empty Light soundtrack) to make music and I gotta say, his first draft tracks have made it very hard not to drop all my responsibilities and exclusively work on this.
Incident at Fell Stroke – this is a prequel to Thousand Empty Light. Another one I’m excited to work on, it’s just a matter of time. Here, I even made a picture.
On the subject of Thousand Empty Light, I’ve had a whole tonne of physical orders for the module recently – its newfound popularity has blown me away. If you’re one of those who bought it recently, thank you! If you’re happy with it, please consider leaving a rating/comment on its itch.io page.
That’s about all for now
These emails where I just talk about myself are kind of boring. If you didn’t see my advice for creatives post, take a look at that. Maybe I’ll do another one of those soon.
No, you hang up!
